Pelican Park Recreation Centre – Reopening Announcement

Following a comprehensive revitalisation project that began in January 2025, we are excited to share that Pelican Park Recreation Centre is nearly ready to reopen! These works have ensured the facility is future-ready, sustainable and better equipped to serve our community.

We can confirm that our Aquatic areas and Gym will reopen from 6.00am on Monday 8 September 2025*  
As we complete final enhancements to support new programs and services, Group Fitness classes will continue at our pop-up locations at Hastings Community Hub and Somerville Recreation Centre until further notice.

CONNECT30 and Burn It functional gym sessions will return to the Health Club space at Pelican Park from reopening day.

While the revitalisation extended beyond the original timeline, the transformation will be well worth the wait. The extra time has allowed us to perfect every detail, ensuring upgraded equipment and refreshed facilities are ready for you to enjoy. We’ve also expanded our programming to help keep you motivated and connected to your health and fitness goals.

The revitalisation works include

• Brand-new equipment & revitalised spaces, including upgraded cardio machines & dedicated recovery zone 
• HVAC system replacement for improved climate control
• Repairs to the pool shell to enhance safety and longevity
• Infrastructure upgrades to essential pool plant & equipment
• Enhancements to improve member accessibility & allow for additional programs & services, with upgraded change rooms & a refurbished family change village
